E. L. Crossley Rowing

The E. L. Crossley Rowing Team is one of the largest high school rowing teams in the country since 1994 and has been coached at several different clubs in the Niagara region including the South Niagara Rowing Club, Niagara Rowing School, and Niagara Falls Rowing Club. Presently, the team is being coached out of the Notre Dame Rowing Club.

The Crossley rowing program is committed to not only nurturing the talents and ambitions of our young athletes but also fostering a strong sense of community pride. Our student-athletes are not just from Pelham, but throughout the Niagara Region. Over the past 30+ years, our crews have seen remarkable success regionally, nationally, and internationally, drawing attention to the spirit and determination that defines E.L. Crossley and Niagara’s spirit.

It is a voluntary activity that is open to all students regardless of height, weight, age, gender, fitness level or experience. Rowing is a fun sport that is a great way to get fit and make new friends. There are usually 65-90 members and the priorities of the team are family first, school second and rowing third. The team is all inclusive meaning anyone can join. There are no cuts. To be a member of the rowing team all you need to do is show up for practice. The focus is on the pursuit of excellence in a friendly and positive environment. The Crossley rowing team is known world wide as a formidable adversary having won in major regattas in Canada, the USA and Great Britain.
